He's the one I would have liked to keep on too. But it's hard to know the exact reason without knowing players' salaries. It's possible Cozza and Croft were on a lot more than fans assume. 

I think we've wrung out last good seasons from Griffin and Hood. Hood potentially ran out of steam half way through this season. Russell is obviously effective but awful value if he can only get on the pitch for 6 games a season. 


Atoni could be a good pick up for Cas, but again if we got Lolesio for half the price and he turns out just as good, then it's smart business.

Shame RE Cozza, he looked a really skillful backrower ready to take over from Pitts.


I suppose agents reckon they can get more money out of us due to our new backers, its good that we don't just give in and only pay what we think a player is worth.

I understand he was very disappointed because he wanted to stay.

Shame really as at 25 he’s coming into some good 5-8 years. He’s been on an upwards trajectory at 13 and has nice hands. I would be very surprised if York/Cas don’t snap him up. 

I suspect we may see Lolesio battling with Pitts for 13 next season with Tevaga starting. Pitts a good squad cover option for next season. 

Just a quick post: 


Shame Cozza is leaving but if we are running with a squad of 32/33 then I suspect we may see 2/3 more signings. 


There are a few good players available out there: 


Nene McDonald (back at Salford I presume contract hunting)


Bennison (saints winger)


Matt Whitley (edge forward/loose who can fill in centre)


Would be worth looking at imo. 


Would potentially like to see another prop but if the plan is for Lingard to get a few games then it may not be necessary.
