Gary asked a whole load of good qustions of the RFL about DR and as far as I know never had a proper reply. Has the RFL got a clear position I wonder? If a club breaks the rules again (ie cheats) will they be punished or will they get away with it? the whole thing still stinks and until clubs know the answer to this the whole sorry mess will remain just that. It still leaves a bad taste but my loyalty to Cougars is greater than my hatred of RFL and the other tw&%s in the game so I expect I will be on the terraces again in 2015.
Dual Registration has become a dirty phrase now. They should scrap it and start fresh... the stated aims of DR for developing inexperienced players would be good for the game however players can move too quickly and be too already-experienced to benefit properly. When those two aspects are tightened up (and proven to be enforced!!!) then I think there may be room for it in the game (basically a loan system for inexperienced players). I feel more open to DR with a lower placed club than ourselves, but then I feel hypocritical and ultimately until they tighten up the system it is just wrong and cheats fair sportsmanship.
